Its the end of the Summer time Art Class. Its been a learning experience for everyone. The kids were wonderful and laughter and smiles were constant. I was so lucky to have such a great crew come to Young at Art. Molly and Megan brought chocolate covered strawberries and Melissa brought CapriSuns. I made kettle corn and it was a sweet ending for sure.  See you in September!! |

 PERFECT DAY TO PAINT OUTSIDE Todays class was so full of creativity and experiences. The students first learned to set up our new easels in the yard. The sky was clear, sun was shining, but the breeze under the shade trees made it ideal for exploring nature in the garden. The little artists took photographs throughout the garden, we printed them in the studio, used multiple pictures as references to plan their own painting. We brought jars of water and brushes outside again to start adding color to the canvas. |

I have such high expectations of myself for the summer. I know myself though, having too many plans, means nothing gets done. I feel a bit better now that I just donated a car load of stuff/things to the MonArc Thrft Shop on Main St. They took everything. I really should just go back and donate more.. I would like to have a cleaned out garage for an additional art studio. An out door studio. Being outside yet in from the rain or whatever. I realize the mosquitos take over the summer and most likely ruin that idea. |

We went to Red Bank last night to see An Evening in Paris. It was a cute movie. Kind of cutsie.. yet enjoyable. We left with a good feeling, yet it made me even more curious about art history. another note. I am hoping to have a pretty large yard sale today. The weather is perfect. There is a beautiful breeze coming through the windows of Young at Art which makes me think that taking the kids out on the porch today would be a great idea. I will need to make some iced tea or lemonade. |

Young at Art Studio's Creative Summer Program is finally here.!! It's been a long cold snowy winter and today our little world around us is greener then ever. There is so much to explore out there and I anticipate this summer to be a successful one for Young at Art. The phone has been ringing off the hook and although that is a good thing, I don't want to get to the point of turning people away. I have not been very good at returning phone calls right way. Sometimes i'll look at the clock and realize it's either too early or too late to call. |
